ok soooo..... these are some of photographs from my second and third shoot of the baby dolls!! i was experimenting with angles and lighting and stuff!!

 here i was using a torch that changed colours!!

 i was experimenting with movement in the photos because this is my biggest fear about the dolls

I want to convey to the audience the uncanny fearful feeling I get when Im around dolls and I will achieve this by using mediums such as photography and sculpture and by making simple simple but effective changes to the dolls to make them unfamiliar and uncanny to the viewer.

I then started to experiment with sculpture and casting the dolls head with plaster

"Pediophobia" the fear of dolls

As a child I used to play with dolls, taking care of them as if they were actually alive, bringing them everywhere with me. Until one night I was about 7, I woke up suddenly, I shared a room with my sisters back then, they were not in their beds that night instead a doll lay on my sisters bed, its head slowly started to turn anticlockwise, I frantically rubbed my eyes, the head didnt stop turning. I screamed hysterically and ran into my parent's room. After that night I couldn't sleep in the same room as a doll, i didnt play with them anymore, I was extremely terrified of them. It was probably a dream but it was so real it terrified me all the same.  Evenn to this day I get an uncanny feeling when i am around dolls.

the start!

This project is a continuation from my previous work on childhood memories and objects from childhood. This semester i will be focusing on another aspect of this theme; childhood fears (the fears that stay with the child as they grow up) My childhood fear is the main focus point for my project, i started taking portrait photos of my fear.

I then started to experiment with photography outside in the dark to make the dolls look more errie and uncanny.

4TH YEAR!!

Ok so im now in 4th year!! AhhhhhHHHhhh!! where the hell did the time go!!??!!  i am continuing on with my project from last semester!! soo to get into the swing of things i started off by doing a small sketchbook which i then submitted to the 2013 Artist Notebook project which takes place in newbridge, co.kildare from the 11th to the 13th of october. these are a few images from that sketch book.
