I am also making full dolls heads out of wax using different animal eyes
I
would like to have a large pyramid of these, they will all have a
differnet range of skin colours. Since doing this project my fears of
dolls are
slowly melting away because I am around them so much, when I have the
pyramid
of wax heads completed I would like to hang a small heater or heat lamp
over
it, too slowly melt the heads down to a pile of wax and eyes this will
convey
the overcoming of my childhood fear. At the moment i am trying to
figure out how i could make a pyramid out of wax heads would i be able
to glue them together with glue or wax? will i have to make some sort of
a structure? how? these are the questions and problems i am trying to
answer and solve. photos coming soon!!

so at the moment!!
In the last semester i created a full dolls head made out of plaster i did it as an experiment i made a mode out of plasyer bandages and filled it with plaster i let it dry, peeled off the bandages and this is what happened.
But i really liked the grittiness and the cracks and imprefections
it gave the deteriorating dolls head a sence of life.
The heads photographed really well these were photos were took for my power point presentation.
I decided to make two more heads and photograph them with a black background here are a selected few of the 80 pictures i had taken.
I just took these photographs with a dslr 3100, i like the way they came out but i plan on taking better photographs in the studio with proper back drops and lighting and i think they would turn out extremely better. I think i would also like to experiment with using a white back drop just to see how they would look. I am going to print these images out in a very large scale as large as i can get!
The bigger the better! I think this will
enhance the feelings I would like to convey to the audience if the photographs
were large in sizw they would have more of an impact on the audience.

continuing on!!
so i made these faces out of plaster and i really liked the look of them. They were broken and cracked and had a rough texture just like a wall so i had an idea....
I painted the heads to resemble the colour of a stone wall...
It didnt stop there....
I went further...
I then decided to stick my work on walls and heres some photos of them before they were stolen...
I think they could be painted better to camoflauge more into the walls.
But i do like these photos especially the soft lighting created by the street lights.
Here we have a few close ups of the plaster heads!
I find the shadows and shades very interesting they make the piece feel errie.
I would really like to push this idea further at some stage weather its in fourth year or when im finished college. I will have to see how much time i have!
these images are not great, but I do like some elements of them.
I like the setting which was an abandoned broken up bathroom outside college.
the colour of the sculpture is very wrong for this wall and i did have trouble sticking it up, as you can see the paste leaking all over the place!! I would really like to remake some sculptures based on the walls in this room and i would like to retake these pictures.
We will see what happens!

dum dee dum dum dum more ideas!!!
with the photos being more like research now i decided to experiment with some different ideas....such as....
wax dolls heads!
this was made by dripping melted wax onto a plaster bandage mould of the dolls head... it reminds me of a monkey!
i then created some moulds of the dolls faces and poured wax into them i also used a variety of different eyes in them to make them feel familiar yet strange and unfamilar.
For my assesment i hung these on my partition but i feel they should be eye level and above, so it has a better imapact and i think if i made a lot more of them and hung them on the wall it would overwhelm the viewer and convey a more errie and uncanny atmosphere.
close ups of some of the wax doll faces
snake eyes!
teddy bear eyes!! CREEPY!!
maquette( experimenting with different ways to display the wax doll faces)
piling them up and melting them together
detail of maquette
(theses were castings of barbie heads)
melting down unwanted dolls wax heads this is scary to be honest!
It really freaks me out when they are melting and still they stare back at you....
